Be ready for this challenge! The second edition of the Barcelona Challenge (www.challenge-barcelona.es) will be taking place on the Coast of Catalunya on October 3rd. After the success of 2009, where more than 2.000 triathletes have participated in the event, the organisers expect the number of entries to be rising for the 2010 edition. The event is very popular all across Europe: in fact, over 60% of all entries came from outside of Spain last year! No matter if you are from the nearby France, or Germany, GB, Portugal, Switzerland or Austria: the Barcelona Challenge offers a great opportunity to finish off your season in style with a prestigous long distance race!

Javier Gomez wins epic battle in London!
For the second weekend in a row, Javi Gomez Noya stood atop the podium at the Dextro Energy Triathlon World Championship Series, winning the fifth event of the tour in London after a hard-fought duel with a pair of Brits named Brownlee. Gomez won the epic race by dropping his competitors on the last running lap, with Alistair Brownlee absolutely blowing with less than 400 meters to go, only ending up 10th.

Twenty-one-year-old Canadian Paula Findlay stunned the women’s field at the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship London, running away with the win, breaking away on the final lap of the run from Nicola Spirig and Helen Jenkins. It was the first-ever World Championship Series start for Findlay, who won her first ITU World Cup race in Monterrey, Mexico this April.

Danish triathlete Helle Frederiksen has launched her brand new website: www.hellefrederiksen.com. The former swimmer, who has started her triathlon career less than 5 years ago, managed to move herself into the world's elite ranks. She finished 2nd last year at the ITU World Cup in Huatalco, Mexico and was ranked 2nd overall in the 2009 ETU rankings.

Javier Gomez has won the men's race at the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series in Hamburg this Saturday. The European Champion of 2009 outrun Olympic Gold Medalist Jan Frodeno on the last kms to take his first ever ITU WCS victory. The women's race saw a big battle between the 2009 World Champion Emma Moffatt and Silver Medalist Lisa Nordén, where the Swedish athlete managed to get her 2nd ITU WCS title after Yokohama 2009 under her belt in a thrilling sprint finish.
